POEA Job Position: Carpenter

Location: Maldives

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

With high school diploma
Minimum 5 years experience
Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
Knowledge to craft and assemble furniture, kitchen cabinets, wardrobes, doors, 8ypsum partition works, false ceilings, flynet replacements, sliding doors, install structures, fixtures and calculate material requirement.
Completion of a recognized apprenticeship or a minimum of 5 years experience as a journey-level carpenter.
Additional certification may be required.
Good communication skills.
Physically fit with good hand-eye coordination.
Knowledge of mathematics.
Able to work under pressure

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

To work and craft furniture’s under the instructions given by designers and supervisors Installing wooden structures such as roofing frames, rafters, partitions, joists and stud work
Crafting and installing cabinets, shelving, fitted furniture, drywall and insulation Adding fixtures and fittings such as door handles, locks, hinges and closures Selecting lumber by size and strength to suit each job, sourcing wood to suit the customer’s budget and style
Calculating the number of fasteners required for each job
Reading blueprints and designs to work to specifications prepared by other construction professionals, architects and building code recommendations
