POEA Job Position: Chef

Location: New Zealand

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Level 5 National Diploma in Hospitality or Equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years relevant experience at a similar or senior role

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work effectively and productively with the other Chefs, Kitchen Staff, Waiting Staff and Suppliers.
  • Ongoing monitoring of food standards and quality, consistency, quantity, temperature, and presentation.
  • Prepare food in a timely manner.
  • Attend regular meetings with kitchen staff to ensure smooth running and management of the kitchen.
  • Ensure all areas satisfy stringent hygiene and work and safety requirements.
  • Manage all stock ordering to the correct quantities, quality and price and storage under the correct conditions and stock takes.
  • Regularly update your knowledge and skills for restaurant excellence.
  • Manage and exceed diners’ expectations and dining experience.
  • Any other duties the employer may reasonably require.
  • Following the recipe book to create high quality dishes
  • Monitor food and stock levels
  • Do prep work as requireda
  • Check dates on food items and discard as required
