Established in 1918, the firm has built a strong reputation for delivering personalized client service, technical expertise, and long-term business partnerships.</span><br><br><strong>The Role</strong><br><span>We are looking for a Bookkeeper to support day-to-day accounting operations, maintain accurate financial records, and assist with financial reporting. The role involves processing invoices and payments, managing accounts payable and receivable, performing bank reconciliations, maintaining general ledgers, and preparing financial reports and supporting schedules. You will also assist with payroll, tax return preparation, and other accounting duties while ensuring accuracy and compliance with established accounting principles and procedures.</span></p><p><br><strong>What You'll Do</strong></p><ul><li><p>Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.</p></li><li><p><span>Prepare and analyse financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and other financial statements.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Code and reconcile payments and receipts.</span></p></li></ul><ul><li><p><span>Maintain client general ledgers for both cash-basis and accrual-basis accounting.</span></p></li></ul><ul><li><p><span>Prepare appropriate schedules and reports as requested by clients and supervisors.</span></p></li></ul><ul><li><p><span>Reconcile cash and credit card accounts to the general ledger.</span></p></li></ul><ul><li><p><span>Receive, review, and post broker statements.</span></p></li></ul><ul><li><p><span>Either receive or process and post payroll.</span></p></li></ul><ul><li><p><span>Ability to generate 1099s and W-2s for clients.</span></p></li></ul><ul><li><p><span>Prepare sales tax returns and personal property tax returns, if needed.</span></p></li></ul><ul><li><p><span>Perform basic tax return preparation knowledge as a plus.</span></p></li></ul><ul><li><p><span>Perform other duties as assigned from time to time by accountants or partners.</span></p></li></ul><p><br><strong>What We're Looking For</strong></p><ul><li><p>2 to 3 years of responsible accounting and bookkeeping experience, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, and financial reports, is a plus</p></li><li><p><span>Preferred Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting</span></p></li><li><p><span>Ability to perform several tasks concurrently with ease and professionalism.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Adaptable and willing to learn and progress in career</span></p></li><li><p><span>Must be able to keep client matters strictly confidential</span></p></li><li><p><span>Must have excellent interpersonal skills and customer service skills</span></p></li><li><p><span>Understanding of accounting principles (GAAP)</span></p></li><li><p><span>Hands on QuickBooks experience, familiarity with other accounting systems (e.g. Xero, Intacct) a plus.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Familiar with common accounting integrations (e.g., </span><a target="_blank" href="http://Bill.com"><span>Bill.com</span></a><span>, Divvy), a plus</span></p></li></ul><hr><p><strong>Why This Role</strong></p><p>This is a great opportunity for an accounting professional to further develop their bookkeeping and financial reporting skills while gaining hands-on experience across various accounting functions.
