POEA Job Position: Senior Builder

Location: Papua New Guinea

1. Qualification/Education Requirement

• Diploma or Trade Certificate

2. Experience

• 5+ years hands on experience

3. Knowledge

• Must also be familiar with material take offs and must be willing to work alongside project manager to produce project costs estimation and budgeting
• Must be computer literate and be familiar to read Microsoft schedules, construction design drawings, shop/fabrication including structural designs, civil designs etc.
• Must be familiar with wide range of building materials
• Must have knowledge or timber/wood, gazing, steel, concrete structures, interior & exterior rough and finishing works.
• Must be familiar with statutory and regulatory, process and requirements from initiating building construction, commissioning and handing over.
• Familiar with civil/earth works, electrical, plumbing etc. ranging from small to large buildings.
• Must have knowledge of AS/NZ and ISO codes for quality assurance.

4. Role/Expectations

• You will be required to be in charge of building project crews in various building project sites at a time
• Display leadership efforts in the construction site and able to lead building construction team and the supervisor teams on site
• Waiting to work alongside architectures and other specialists when required.
• Manage, coordinate and implement occupational health and safety always at site
• Must be able to schedule daily pre-starts and site works planning
• Able to oversee more than a single project site at one time when required
• Must be able to regularly inspect construction site and maintain quality control
• Coordinate works with contractors and sub-contractors on a daily basis
• Coordinate between the construction team and the project manager to ensure the works on critical path are on schedule for timely project completion.
• Initiate and activate campaign on safety of existing and newly completed buildings and properties and create regular evaluations of the buildings
• Any other duties as and when required
