POEA Job Position: Civil Geotechnical Engineer

Location: South Korea

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 5 or more years experience in Oil and gas, Infrastructure, Chemical, Power and Wind Farm Projects;
• Professional Affiliation as Chartered Engineer or Professional Engineer license (but not mandatory);
• Experience in geotechnical scope of works for all FEED and EPC Projects within budget and time;
• Experience in onshore and offshore (marine) projects.
• Proficient user of MS Office; Fluent in English

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Review of geotechnical investigation reports and develop foundation design criteria for bidding and detail design projects, – Review and prepare of geotechnical scope of works for geotechnical investigation, geophysical survey, ground improvement,
• Proficient with Geotechnical Design Software (Plaxis, Geostudio, L-Pile, GRLWEAP etc.);-Knowledge in International standards (ASTM, IBC, ASCE, API, ASTM, BS, Euro Code, FHWA etc);
• Excellent in preparation of geo technical reports such as site condition, shallow and pile foundations, liquefaction, soil improvement, slope stability, temporary excavation, risk assessment etc;
• Ability to travel to Site to supervise geotechnical investigations, construction monitoring, pile load test and technical support; – Ability to develop software for Foundation design calculations and soil improvement evaluation;
• Communicate with the project teams and support staff on any geotechnical issues and providing solutions and instructions as necessary;
• Take an active role in continuous improvement of geotechnical team to support projects; – Maintaining good relations and coordinating with Owners and Consultants;- Highly developed problem solving and time management skills.
